By design, the Bug-A-Salt resembles a toy pump shotgun, equipped with a safety, a ready-to-shoot indicator, an ergonomic grip and a salt reservoir. A vigorous movement of the shuttle located under the barrel is sufficient to compress the air. After reloading, the device must be unlocked. Pressing the trigger fires a deadly load of coarse salt for flies. The salt tank is located in the upper part of the shotgun, so refilling the "ammunition" is very easy. Just lift the flaps and pour in salt of the preferred "caliber." The designers also took care of a transparent window, allowing to check the amount of available salt.
