The Morakniv Mörkret Black Blade (C) is an uncompromising, heavy-duty wilderness knife engineered to handle punishing survival tasks where equipment failure is not an option. Designed as a solid Full-Tang platform, it offers balance, structural stiffness, and shock tolerance during heavy wood processing, batoning, and shelter building. Its High Flat grind with a robust secondary bevel provides extra steel mass directly behind the cutting edge, preventing chipping under impact.
Forged from German 100Cr6 high-carbon ball-bearing steel alloyed with 1.3–1.5% chromium, the blade achieves superior toughness and mechanical resilience at 57.5 HRC. A non-reflective black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) finish provides corrosion defense and suppresses tactical light glint. The flat 90-degree spine is sharp-ground for striking ferro rods, and an exposed steel tang at the butt provides an additional scraper for tinder prep or emergency impact tasks.
The glass-fiber reinforced Power Touch Grip combines a secure, cushioned feel with high impact resistance, sporting spine grooves for indexed control while wearing heavy winter gloves. The ambidextrous Click-On sheath can be mounted for left- or right-hand draw, locks the blade positively in place, and integrates directly with TEK-LOK hardware, MOLLE load-bearing rails, and the included LIBA Smart® dangler loop.
