The Morakniv Woodcarving Knife 106 (C) is a quintessential woodcraft tool trusted by generations of green woodworkers, spoon carvers, and bushcraft enthusiasts. Its long, slender 85 mm tapered profile delivers superior reach for smooth slicing strokes across wider workpieces while retaining acute point control for intricate hollows and detailing.

Forged from German carbon steel C100S by C.D. Wälzholz GmbH and heat-treated in Mora to 58.5 HRC, the blade takes a razor-sharp edge with exceptional edge retention and responds instantly to simple leather stropping or waterstones. The zero-microbevel Scandi grind (26–28°) bites into wood fibers without wedging. Built with a full-length rat-tail tang through the handle, the knife handles heavier push cuts and leverage cuts without play.

The barrel-shaped handle is crafted from oiled Scandinavian birch, offering ergonomic indexing that prevents hot spots during multi-hour carving sessions. It comes complete with a durable ambidextrous polymer sheath for safe transport.

  • Long 85 mm Tapered Blade: Versatile profile suitable for roughing out shapes and delicate detailing.

  • German Carbon Steel (C100S, 58.5 HRC): Exceptional keenness, edge durability, and ease of resharpening.

  • Scandi Zero Grind: Pure Scandinavian grind angle (26–28°) for smooth wood carving.

  • Oiled Birch Handle: Traditional wooden handle provides fatigue-free grip and tactile warmth.

  • Made in Mora, Sweden: Manufactured with 135 years of Swedish cutlery heritage.

Maintenance Note: Carbon steel blades are susceptible to moisture. Always wipe the blade clean and completely dry after use, then apply a light film of mineral or protective oil to prevent rust.
